VisitEngland's Mystery Guest says you can expect us to be 'very good', even 'excellent'
The recent VisitEngland Mystery Guest confirmed our 4-Star Quality, a standard we've maintained for 15 years, now. Since we opened, in fact. You can expect our bedrooms, bathrooms, cleanliness and hospitality to be "very good". Our breakfasts scored 100/100, VisitEngland call that "Excellent" a 5-Star rating.
Since that assessment, we have fully re-decorated throughout. And improved our menus.
All of our bedrooms are upstairs (so please check our access statement). You can download pictures and full details of every bedroom by clicking onto the link below.
Almost all guests declare our beds to be extremely comfortable, and given their price we are not surprised - Quality speaks for itself! We normally use anti-allergy pillows/duvets and 100% cotton linen - but if you prefer flat sheets and blankets, please let us know when booking. For those who feel any chill, you will find freshly laundered throws and blankets to assist.
You'll find a courtesy tray (carrying tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and filtered water). For the bathrooms, expect nicely soft full-size bathsheets, hand towels and hair-driers - and even scented candles should you wish to light one. Like us, almost all guests travel nowadays with their personal choice of toiletries, so we have learned not to clutter your bathrooms with hotel-minatures, just providing a good quality hand wash, but toiletries are all available free-of-charge on request.
Each room has a television and free-of-charge high-speed WiFi. Ironing and fridge/freezer facilities are also provided without charge upon request.
All of our rooms look out over our fields and/or gardens. Enjoy watching the squirrels and spot a wide variety of birds. Our Twitch-List to date covers wrens, blue- & great-tits, chaffinch, house- & field-sparrows, robins, nut-hatches, our large resident population of house martins, starlings, blackbirds, wood pigeons, spotted- & green-woodpeckers, partridges, pheasants, crows, sparrow hawks and long-resident buzzards. Bad weather brings Gulls; good weather brings Storks. If you can add to this, we'll be pleased - particulalrly as spring and autumn sees the transit of some migratory species not yet confidently identified.

We take joy in breakfasts! See our menu below - but it is ONLY a menu. Give us good notice and we will happily cook you pretty much anything you ask for. If you have a dietary sensitivity, please just let us know beforehand and you'll be carefully looked after.
My bacon is properly dry-cured by Patrick Richards, a local retired Q-Guild butcher, who operates his own smoke-house. My sausages are hand-made by Steven Hewitt, to his Q-Guild Gold-winning recipes and my exact specification : they have tonnes of flavour, with only enough fat to make them moist and almost no cereal! I make our own Corned Beef; I carefully fridge-dry our mushrooms to achieve real taste: I continually search out the freshest hen & duck eggs and the best hand-churned butter. I use Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Sumantran Mandheling Coffee (and will do until I can find something even better) and carry a wide range of choices of tea. When we can, we use our own vine tomatoes, otherwise we search out the best.
Boningale Manor offers 'freshly-cooked' like only a bijou hotel can. You won't face a row of warm plates, offering a choice of slightly-wrinkled sausages, crusted-beans or clammy eggs (and an empty tray where the bacon used to be). Instead, we agree approximately when you'd like breakfast and carefully prepare your breakfast to be ready for that time, never committing the eggs nor tea until you actually take table.
If you like a cereal to start with, we carry an excellent porridge and freshly make up Muesli to be as nutty or fruity as you prefer (no dusty residues!). Due to very rare demand, we don't stock branded cereals like Corn Flakes but tell us when booking and we'll get them in for you.
For those self-catering and wishing to take breakfast, please note the prices given below.
Guests at Boningale Manor are spoiled for choice concerning evening meals! An easy walk away, in Wolverhampton, 'The Summer House' pub offers a warm welcome and good value meals Just half-a-mile away, Marston's UK Food Pub of 2016 'Horns of Boningale' is definitely rewards the short drive. Nearby Albrighton and Shifnal, then Wolverhampton and Telford offer many other choices and we'd be pleased to listen to your preferences and recommend.
If you are travelling a long way and are likely to arrive too late for our two local restaurants, who serve food up to around 9pm, why not pre-book an evening meal with us? In addition to British cuisine, we are considered to be pretty good at most cuisines which border the Mediterranean (but not Greek nor Turkish), very good at Middle- and Far-Eastern cuisisnes & truly fabulous when it comes to Caribbean dishes.
For those who require a morning call, let us know the day before. We are very happy to set our alarms to 'knock on your door' because we'll be cooking for you anyway
