THE ROUND HOUSE 

Granted the prestigious Visit Britain GOLD Award

The Round House is a truly unusual, circular-roofed, barn conversion completed in December 2009. Originally built (c.1750) aa a "horse engine shed" or "gin house", two horses would be walked in a circle to drive farm machinery in the adjoining mill and granary. 

The immediate response of guests is to describe this barn accommodation as 'stunning'. The high open ceiling shows off the beautiful original beams, highlighted by spotlights.  Large double glazed windows flood the sitting room with light and allow views of "The Wrekin" and a glazed stable door in the bedroom provides views across the paddock. 

The luxury kitchen has a fridge freezer, an electric double oven and ceramic hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washer dryer with a dining table to seat four. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery, [ for unexpected guests] a toaster and kettle. The sitting room and kitchen are open plan with a 37" flat screen TV and DVD. A red leather sofa and chair complete the room.

There are two bedrooms, a ground floor double/twin bedroom and a single, galleried bedroom on a mezzanine floor accessed from the double bedroom by a space saving staircase.Comfortable "back care" mattresses and non-allergy pillows and duvets with crisp bedlinen make your stay more enjoyable. To add flexibility, the sofa converts to a double bed. [All bed linen and towels are provided]

The bathroom has a huge, double, easy access, shower and traditional, cast iron bath!  Under floor heating warms the whole barn, so enjoy walking on the warm tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. The Round House is accessed by a ramp with a very small step.
